Cemetery Trustees

The Cemetery Trustees met at the Community Building at 9AM.
Insurance: Insurance for Steve’s Quality Service has now been received and filed with the Selectmen’s office.
Complaint: A lot owner has filed a complaint with the Trustees citing a large number of ants on the lot as well as the ground being soft under foot. The Trustees visited the lot on July 6 and found a few black ants, scattered white powder, and poor growth on the lot near the headstone. The disturbance seems to be isolated to this one small area of the cemetery; the rest of the cemetery is lush and green. The Trustees will inform the owner that their only responsibility to the lot owner is mowing and trimming.
Leavitt Field: The Trustees have noticed that there are some downed limbs in the field that need to be removed, a small growth area that needs to be cut out, and trees that need to be trimmed back to the border. Trustees will look into getting these issues addressed.
Sanborn-Smith Cemetery: This cemetery has been cleared of brush and growth after years of neglect.
